Clownfish, the tiny fighters of the sea

Anemonefish are small fish that live together with sea anemones. The anemone protects the clownfish from predators, while the clownfish cleans the anemone and drives away butterfly fish that like to eat it. It is a symbiotic relationship, “win-win”.
But! Although clownfish are small and cute, they are known for being very protective of their “home”. Just think, if someone were to take your home away from you, would you give in easily? Of course not! The same goes for clownfish. They are ready to protect their sea anemone from other clownfish or even other fish that dare to encroach on their territory.

When there is an intruder in their territory, clownfish will immediately show aggressive behavior by puffing up their bodies, opening their mouths wide, and making threatening sounds, while swimming towards, biting and chasing the intruders, just like a boxer kicking, punching, elbowing and kneeing their opponent! Clownfish fights may not seem as violent as Thai boxing in humans, but they are full of ferocity, agility and wit. Especially if it is a fight for a sea anemone or the position of leader, the fight becomes even more fierce and intense.
